Brent, you're catching morps disease. Second page, first sentence - spelling mistake ( I think) Visor, not visr.

ODST just lacks multiplayer.....the whole VISR things shits me though, I prefer the look of Halo 3, ODST has way to much night time footage!!! |

Blue dingo is right KK... I checked the game twice but the VISR option in the game is no standard Visor... check again and tell me i didnt go into great detail for this review at times Questioned it untill i finally did a final run through and was spot on
As said the lack of a "new MP" is the key lackings... a simple match making option in firefight would be nice but i loved the whole SP aspect of the game to bits |

Great review.
Overall I'll have to agree with the other negative comments;

Overall it just didn't really do enough different in a great way to really grab me. It was just another Halo game imo. So much so I haven't even bothered to finish the SP campaign as yet.
I'm sure this is one game though that for whatever reason even in 6 months time I'll still be able to find some people up for a run through though. |

I finished it the other day and I really liked the battles and the music.
The story and the mystery were a waste of time IMO.
I liked the noir-ish feel to it, but the night scenes were too dark.
*and firefight is great fun. |

Yer Firefight hits the nail on the head. And agreed some of the bigger battles are fun. |

As brent said it needs a match making option in firefight like horde does in gears. |

yeh sadly, I do not rate this game at all.
Fang as you know I am a massive HALO fanboy, however, the graphics in the game are poor and full of jagged edges.
The action is sparse and disbursed, there is no feeling of immersion or intensity and I only ever play the games on the most difficult settings.
Firefight is a borrowed concept from the COD series Zombie maps or Left for Dead Survival modes, however it totally misses the mark and is of no comparison. There is no variation in intensity and barely noticeable difficulty changes between attack runs.
I have played the game on 2 occasions since its release date and have not even been remotely interested in going back.
When MF2 gets released I would safely bet you will not see anyone else on it either. |

In the cut scenes the graphics and animation is horrendous. The halo engine is really showing its age. |

Well ignoring Fanboyism I thought the Halo engine has always been pretty ordinary on the 360. Lucky it's gameplay has some appeal.
I'd rip the game engine apart, except I know I'll have to put up with too much flaming from the brainwashed. |

Absolutely 100% agreed. Halo 3 looked much better than ODST though - I still can't work out how they screwed that up. Maybe it was the night scenes, maybe it was the city scape, maybe it was the VISR (whch I am sure was implemented late because the levels were too dark) - I don't know but it really didn't look great.
Here's what they should do - go back, remake HALO 2 in HD (including multiplayer) and get rid of all the fluff - get back to what is arguably the greatest game ever made...... |

Lest we forget this is built on the Halo engine and as it was never intended as a "full game" they did not over-hale the engine as there was no original need to... I would hope the new/updated engine will be rolled out with REACH... we shall see...
They did do alot of improvements on the engine though i played the whole game off my HDD from start to finish to im not sure what the load times etc would be like off the disc (i know i should have checked lol) but they did fix it and from halo 3 which ran like shit off the HDD as most ppl will know... |
